With Poco Pad 5G, Xiaomi spin-off brand Poco, has made its foray into India’s tablet market. The Poco Pad 5G has all the underpinnings of a typical Poco product. The specs are good especially for the price that Poco is charging for this tablet.
-
Easily the biggest draw here is the support for 5G. You might not have it or need it today, but it helps to know that the stuff you’re buying is future-ready. Poco isn’t charging a bomb for it either.
-
The Poco Pad 5G comes in a choice of 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB for Rs 23,999 and Rs 25,999. That’s Rs 1,000 cheaper than a comparable Redmi Pad Pro 5G which has the same hardware.
-
The Poco Pad 5G has large a 12.1-inch 2.5K (2560x1600p) resolution IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision playback support.
-
Under the hood, the Poco Pad 5G has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor and a 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Poco ships a compatible charger in the box.
-
Running the show is Android 14-based HyperOS with a new Xiaomi app called Interconnectivity that allows for seamless integration with Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones.
-
The design is utilitarian at best though you do get a somewhat premium all-metal chassis. The Poco Pad 5G comes in two colours: pistachio green and cobalt blue.
-
The tablet supports expandable storage up to 1.5TB and comes with a quad-speaker setup. Dolby Atmos is supported natively.
-
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front as well as on the back. (Photos credit: Saurabh Singh/Financial Express)
