A 28-year-old woman was found dead by her friend sleeping next to her at 6 am on Wednesday in Vishweshwaraiah Layout near Kengeri, West Bengaluru. The woman’s husband Kiran, 31, has been arrested for the alleged murder based on the complaint of the friend, Aishwarya. As per the police, the victim, Navyashree, and Kiran got married three years ago. However, they had been involved in domestic disputes because Kiran allegedly suspected Navyashree of having an extramarital affair. Aishwarya found Navyashree dead next to her with her throat slit. The mattress they had slept on was drenched in blood. The police have said that Navyashree called Aishwarya to her place on Tuesday morning as she did not feel safe being alone at home. Aishwarya and Navyashree, childhood friends, both come from Bhadravathi in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district. They later went out in a car and picked ip Anil and discussed the problems Navyashree has been facing. After discussing the issues, Anil advised Navyashree to go to the police and file a complaint. Later that evening, the women dropped Anil off at his place, returned home around 11:30 pm, and went to sleep in the same bed. The next morning, Aishwarya discovered Navyashree dead. Neighbors quickly rushed to the scene, and one of them alerted the police control room about the suspected murder. A police officer revealed that Kiran had a spare key to the house. After Navyashree and Aishwarya returned home and went to sleep, he allegedly entered the house using the key. He is suspected of having slit his wife’s throat, according to the police.
