Gujarat Floods News Live Updates: Gujarat rainfall has claimed more than 35 lives in the past three days since August 26. The continued rainfall has led to a flood-like situation in Dwarka and Vadodara. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel over the phone about the situation and relief measures. The Indian Army has also deployed six columns for the relief work at the request of the Gujarat government. As of now, 17,800 people have been evacuated. Indian Air Force has conducted rescue operations in the flood-affected Kalyanpur tehsil in Dwarka. As per Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, over 5,000 people have been moved to new locations and more than 12,000 were rescued till August 28 in Vadodara. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a red alert for the state, which is facing heavy rain due to a deep depression moving from East Rajasthan towards the Saurashtra region.
