Hyundai’s made-in-India three-row SUV, the Alcazar, will officially break cover on September 9. As the Alcazar is based on the best-selling mid-size SUV, the Creta, we take a look at what additional features the three-row SUV offers over its sibling. Here are the five game-changers.
Hyundai Alcazar vs Creta: Adjust co-driver set from rear
The feature commonly known as ‘Boss Mode’ was popularized by Tata Motors with its introduction in the Safari. The Alcazar has now adopted this convenient feature. It allows the second-row passenger to adjust the recline and slide the front passenger seat forward, thereby increasing legroom. The control buttons for this are located on the right side of the front passenger seat’s backrest.
Hyundai Alcazar vs Creta: Tap to lock and unlock doors
This NFC feature is unprecedented in a vehicle manufactured in India. Utilizing a digital key, one can lock or unlock the vehicle by simply tapping their phone against the door handle. The smartphone employs Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, which sends an electric current that creates a magnetic field, transmitting data and energy at a frequency of 13.56 MHz.
Hyundai Alcazar vs Creta: Wireless phone charger for 2nd row
The Alcazar offers additional convenient charging options for second-row passengers. The SUV comes with two USB Type-C ports including a fast charger. The 2024 Alcazar also is equipped with a wireless charger for middle-row passengers. The Creta, on the other hand, only provides a wireless phone charger in the front for the driver and the co-driver.
Hyundai Alcazar vs Creta: Ventilated 2nd row
The six-seater Alcazar takes comfort to the next level and becomes the second made-in-India vehicle to offer ventilated seats for the middle row after the Tata Safari. This function is limited to the captain or independent seats in the six-seater trim.
Hyundai Alcazar vs Creta: Extra comfort features
The six-seater Alcazar offers an array of comfort features for those seated in the second row. The captain’s seats are equipped with broad, foldable headrests that resemble wings and are akin to those found on airplanes. The headrest sides can be folded in to provide enhanced support for the head and neck.
Additionally, the independent second-row seats come with adjustable under-thigh support. This feature ensures that passengers in the second row enjoy a pampered experience, particularly during long journeys, preventing fatigue.
