BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is set to become the next chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in December, following his nomination as the sole candidate for the role. The announcement was made by the global governing body for cricket on Tuesday. In a statement released by the ICC, Shah expressed his gratitude for the nomination, saying, "I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council." His new role marks a significant shift from his current position, as he will leave his BCCI role following the Board's Annual General Meeting, scheduled for late September or October. Shah has been a prominent figure in international cricket administration, currently leading the ICC's Finance and Commercial Affairs (F&CA) sub-committee, a position he assumed in 2022.
