Former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has approached the Delhi High Court, seeking to quash all criminal proceedings against him, including the FIR and chargesheet accusing him of sexually assaulting women wrestlers during his tenure as Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief.

According to The Indian Express report, Singh is also requesting that the charges framed against him by a Delhi trial court be nullified. The petition is scheduled for a hearing before Justice Neena Bansal Krishna on Thursday.

In May this year, the trial court had framed charges under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty of a woman) and 354A (sexual harassment), after Singh pleaded not guilty.

The 1,500-page chargesheet against Singh, which alleges sexual harassment, assault, and stalking of six women wrestlers, includes statements from at least 22 witnesses across four states. Among those providing testimony were wrestlers, a referee, a coach, and a physiotherapist.
