Shares of state-run NBCC Ltd. surged by as much as 7.76% on Wednesday, reaching an intra-day high of Rs 192.60 on the NSE, following the company's announcement that it is considering a proposal for a bonus share issue. The board of NBCC is scheduled to meet on August 31 to deliberate on this proposal, according to an exchange filing made on Tuesday. In the filing, the company stated, "The board will consider the proposal for the issue of Bonus Shares to the equity shareholders of the company in the ratio, as it may deem fit by way of capitalisation of reserves, subject to the shareholders' approval."
